Spark@Vizeum arrives in the PH

MANILA – Vizeum, the media arm of the Dentsu Aegis Network, has began its search for the best advertising and marketing focused startups across the Asia-Pacific with the launch of Spark@Vizeum in the Philippines in partnership with the IdeaSpace Foundation.

The search will let startups work with the agency’s top clients to solve real business problems in three areas:  addressing the challenge of reaching and engaging millennials, leveraging the mobile opportunity and tapping the power of the crowd.

Details on how will Spark@Vizeum run the Philippines hasn’t been disclosed but it will likely be done in stages as with the original version in the United Kingdom.

Vizeum will sort through the entries to meet with 15 shortlisted start-ups, which will then be refined down to five finalists who will pitch their ideas to the clients they will work with. The agency along with other partners will then help develop the idea to bring it to market.

Vizeum has confirmed plans to launch Spark@Vizeum in Australia and Singapore in the second half of 2015. The agency’s global network spans 40 countries worldwide with clients including 20th Century Fox, AB InBev, Burberry, BMW, IKEA, MINI and Panasonic.

“With the introduction of Spark@Vizeum by Dentsu Aegis Network Philippines, we are now able to bridge that gap for the local start-up communities, who have been clamouring for a roadmap to create great business value; and lend a helping hand to Philippine clients eager to make a name in the local and global stage,” said Miguel Ramos, CEO for Dentsu Aegis Network Philippines.

Earl Valencia, IdeaSpace Foundation president and founder, sees Spark@Vizeum as an ideal program for startups that are into marketing and advertising businesses.

“The Spark@Vizeum initiative, in partnership with the Ideaspace, is a strong step forward in helping to build a platform for advertising and marketing focused start-ups; to bring to life their ideas and partner with major brands in creating innovative solutions for long standing business challenges,” he said.
