THE PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 2012: It appears as if a number of Filipinos need all the help they can get in expressing their love, especially through the written word. Days before the most romantic day of the year, the search for “Valentine’s day card” saw a spike of 145.69% according to Yahoo! Philippines.
This is followed by “Valentine’s quotes” and “Valentine’s day”. Beyond the expected and typical searches for t ideas, flowers, and places for that romantic date, Henryl Moreno, Editorial for Search and Platforms Manager of Yahoo! Southeast Asia, said that Filipinos search trends are related to famous love quotes and proposals or declarations of love when Valentine’s rolls around.
Rounding up the top five are “Roses”, the ever-present Valentine’s flowers and which had an increase of 89.68% in searches, and “Valentine’s hearts”, for persons who want to design and decorate their own Valentine’s cards for their loved ones.
