ASIA-PACIFIC – THAILAND, MARCH 18, 2013 – After the festivities and talks on Adfest 2013’s first day, the finalists have already been unveiled. Tokyo leads the pack with a total of 95 finalists, followed by Mumbai with 63 and Bangkok, 52.
With 2013 being the first Adfest year for the Middle East, Dubai hits the ground running with 11 recognized finalist slots.
Tokyo’s Hakuhodo shone in the Design Lotus category where campaigns for TOKYO ANIMA! 2012 and the ‘Magnetic World’ campaign for Ad:tech Tokyo secured two slots each.
Mumbai took the spotlight in the Lotus Roots category with 11 finalists. Taproot India shows its mastery in creating campaigns that resonate with India’s deep-seated culture, with its campaigns for Nima Bartan and Save Our Sisters securing three slots each in the category.
Taking the juries affections in the Print Craft category is Bangkok with 16 finalists, with creative shop Illusion Co. taking up six of the slots.
Dubai, which first sent entries in this year’s festival, secures for itself 11 slots and leads in the Press Lotus category. Y&R Dubai takes the spotlight with three campaigns recognized as finalists – two Harvey Nichols campaigns, Pelicans and Minimum Impact, leading the way.
