Gil G. Chua, Chairman and CEO of GGC Group Asia (formerly DDB Group Philippines), has been named the recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the 4As Creative Guild of the Philippines. The award was formally presented during the Kidlat Creative Festival & Awards Night held Friday.

The recognition is the highest individual honor conferred by the Creative Guild, celebrating individuals who have made a lasting impact on the Philippine advertising industry. According to the official announcement, the selection process was highly competitive, underscoring the significance of Chua’s decades-long contributions to the field.

Chua’s career spans nearly five decades, beginning in 1977 when he entered the industry as a media assistant and steadily rose through the ranks to become one of the country’s most respected industry leaders. Throughout his journey—from AMA to DDB and now GGC Group Asia—he has championed creativity as a driving force for business growth and innovation.

Under his leadership, GGC Group Asia has recently undergone a major transformation, emerging as an independent, Filipino-led creative powerhouse and business solutions network following its rebranding from DDB Group in July 2026. The organization continues to grow, maintaining strong client confidence while safeguarding jobs and expanding its nationwide presence.

“For more than three decades, under DDB, our guiding philosophy had always been ‘Creativity is the most powerful force in business’. That still stands today. Creativity is the lifeblood of our award-winning agencies—that’s why this recognition from the creative community means so much to me,” he said.

The Creative Guild’s recognition highlights not only Chua’s professional achievements but also his enduring advocacy for creativity as a catalyst for opportunity and value creation. The award is traditionally given to creative practitioners; however, Chua’s leadership and unwavering support for the creative community have redefined what it means to be a true champion of the craft.

In his acceptance, Chua expressed deep gratitude to his mentors, colleagues, clients, and family, emphasizing that the honor is shared with the many individuals who have contributed to his journey and the success of GGC Group Asia. He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Creative Guild and the broader advertising industry.

The 2026 Kidlat Creative Festival carries the theme “Unprompted,” celebrating raw, human creativity—a ethos that aligns closely with Chua’s lifelong belief in the power of ideas to transform businesses and lives.
