LePub and McCann Worldgroup bring home the biggest wins at the Golden Drum Festival 2023

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA — The Golden Drum Festival 2023 has wrapped up with the Golden Drum Awards Show, powered by Mastercard, held on October 10. The Festival finally returned to its roots in Portorož where the industry celebrated creativity together, amidst the charm of the Adriatic coast.

Celebrating creative excellence

The juries granted 50 Bronze Drum, 37 Silver Drum, 29 Golden Drum, and 12 Grand Prix awards across various groups and categories. 

The prestigious title of Agency of the Year was bestowed upon LePub, while McCann Worldgroup collected the most points and was celebrated as the Network of the Year.


The best brand leaving a mark and receiving the Brand Grand Prix is Mastercard. Marcin Sosiński, McCann Poland, the creative director behind the campaign “Where to Settle,” earned the prestigious title of the Creative Director of the Year, this year powered by Elan

The title of the Independent Agency of the Year, supported by, was awarded to THIS IS LOCCO from Bratislava.

Production Agency of the Year became the Israeli agency Mud production, while the title of the Digital Agency of the Year went to MRM Romania. This year marked the debut of the Media Agency of the Year, supported by BH Telecom, and the award went to UM Romania

The All Juries section awarded Best of Genius Loci, an award celebrating local works that present their distinctive local spirit, to McCann Poland for “Where to Settle,” made for client Mastercard. Meanwhile, the Best of Social Good award and the Game Changer award, powered by Telemach Slovenia, were withheld by the jury this year.

The most successful agency from the Adriatic Region, receiving the special Adriatic Agency of the Year award, powered by Zavarovalnica Triglav, became Via Media from Bosnia and Herzegovina with “Bingo.”

The newest Hall of Fame member is Catalin Dobre Co-CEO and Chief Creative Officer of McCann Worldgroup Romania and Regional Creative Director of McCann CEE. He now joins the esteemed cohort of creative visionaries who have not only inspired but have profoundly influenced the world of creativity as we know it.

The best creative solution to the brief of the Young Drummers Competition, powered by Slovenian Tourist Organization is “When it’s a Match!” made by Paul Schneider from Schneider.Studio, Yerevan, Armenia.

All winners took home sustainable trophies made from environmentally friendly materials.
