After bagging major awards including Best Direction and Best Screenplay at the last Cinemalaya, Chris Martinez’s 100 has gone international, winning the Audience Award at the Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea. The KNN Movie Award carries a prize of US$20,000 in cash.
Written and directed by Straightshooters director and former Basic creative Martinez, 100 is co-produced by Publicis Manila President Marlon Rivera. At Cinemalaya, the movie also won the Audience Choice award, as well as Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards, for Mylene Dizon and Eugene Domingo respectively.
Next stop is Morocco, for the Marrakech International Film Festival from Nov. 15-21. At this rate, 100 might soon pertain to the number of film festivals smitten by Martinez’s gem of a movie.
