Uniquecorn Strategies has secured two Excellence Awards at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards, recognizing the agency’s strategic communications work in advancing inclusion advocacy and housing policy reform.

The PR-first communications agency was recognized for “Building an ‘Ausome World’: Giving Every Child a Voice Through Awareness and Inclusion Advocacy Campaign,” an initiative developed for client Mylo Speech Buddy, which won in the Diversity and Inclusion category under Communication Management.

Its second winning campaign, “Building a Nation of Homes: SHDA’s Public Affairs Program for Inclusive Housing Policy Reform,” developed for client Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), earned an Excellence Award in the Government and Public Affairs category, also under the Communication Management division.

The awards were presented on August 27, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort in Parañaque City, marking a significant accolade for Uniquecorn’s work across two distinct areas of strategic communications: advocacy campaigns and public affairs. From giving children and families a stronger voice to helping shape conversations around national housing policy, the campaigns demonstrate the agency’s approach to using communications as a platform for advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and measurable impact.

For Mylo Speech Buddy, Uniquecorn developed the Ausome World campaign for World Autism Awareness Month 2025, combining authentic family storytelling, a multi-sector launch forum, and a global digital video series. Rather than placing the brand at the center of the campaign, the strategy positioned neurodivergent children and their caregivers as active participants in the conversation, helping promote more inclusive and non-stigmatizing representations of autism— all executed on a combined budget of ₱230,000 with zero paid media.

Executed entirely through earned and organic channels, the six-week campaign generated 35.25 million in potential media reach and ₱26.32 million in PR value. The campaign also exceeded its targets for media coverage, Ausome World digital video series views, engagement, and community participation.

Moreover, the Ausome World Launch Forum at Solaire Resort North brought together 60 participants—double the original target—including developmental specialists, media representatives, policymakers, advocates, and families for discussions on autism inclusion, therapy accessibility, and community support.

Beyond media metrics, the campaign contributed to Mylo’s growth from 75,000 downloads at the start of the campaign to over 100,000 downloads across 100 countries, alongside a 33 percent increase in app subscribers in April 2025—achieved without any paid advertising.

Meanwhile, Uniquecorn’s work with SHDA took a longer-term public affairs approach, addressing one of the country’s most pressing socioeconomic challenges: the housing backlog.

The “Building a Nation of Homes” program ran from January to December 2025 and sought to position SHDA, which represents 350 member companies across eight regional chapters, as a credible private sector policy voice on affordable and inclusive housing. The program combined evidence-based policy messaging, sustained media engagement, stakeholder relations, national policy convenings, and month-on-month communications to keep housing reform on the public agenda.

The campaign generated 174 earned media placements and 76.2 million in potential reach, and ₱80.3 million in PR value, while its 33rd National Developers Convention convened 400 attendees, including media representatives, for dialogue among SHDA, government, legislators, developers, and other stakeholders.

Most significantly, the program contributed to the passage of Joint Memorandum Circular 2025-001, raising the socialized housing price ceiling to ₱950,000 for subdivision units and ₱1.8 million for condominium units, increasing the floor area from 22 to 24 square meters, and updating development standards. DHSUD’s official communications specifically acknowledged the role of private developer organizations, including SHDA, in informing the policy update—a direct, government-sourced attribution of the advocacy program’s influence.

“These two wins show what happens when communications are built around purpose, strategy, and measurable outcomes,” said Irene Manansala, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Uniquecorn Strategies. “Whether we are giving families raising children with autism a stronger voice in the conversation on inclusion or helping turn a private sector’s data and advocacy into a national housing policy update, our role is to make communications matter.”

The double recognition adds to Uniquecorn Strategies’ growing body of award-winning work, including a Gold Stevie Award at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, and reinforces its commitment to strategic communications that build credibility, influence conversations, and create meaningful outcomes.

Organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, the Philippine Quill Awards is an annual awards program that honors excellence in business communication and celebrates programs that demonstrate strategic thinking, effective execution, and measurable impact.
