Gigil and Netflix gives Filipinos the Kare-Kare experience in 4D with Replacing Chef Chico activation

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The weekend saw the emergence of a gigantic pot in the Palm Drive entrance of Glorietta mall for Netflix’s new series Replacing Chef Chico. GIGIL Philippines invited people to peek inside the show’s kitchen from the most unexpected location – inside one of its pots.

The 24-foot tall installation brought the series’ poster to life through an immersive experience where one got stewed into kare-kare by actors Sam Milby, Alessandra de Rossi, and Piolo Pascual. They even broke the fourth wall and surprised people inside the pot by casually referring to them.

The Replacing Chef Chico 4D Experience replicated what it’s like to be inside a pot through LED screens curved inwards and perfectly matched with the top lid. Guests were treated to a visual and sensorial delight of a shaking floor, atmospheric changes, larger-than-life simmering meat and vegetables, and the mouthwatering scent of kare-kare as they were served drama among the three characters.

This is the first 4D experience designed by GIGIL Philippines for Netflix Philippines, assisted by production house BNM Philippines (Black Noise Machine).

The Replacing Chef Chico 4D Experience ran for free from November 25 to 28, inside a giant pot in the middle of the busy mall.

Replacing Chef Chico is now streaming, only on Netflix.
