Chengdu chosen as venue for O&M’s annual worldwide board meeting

ASIA-PACIFIC – CHINA, MAY 12, 2013 – Ogilvy & Mather will conduct its annual worldwide board meeting in Chengdu, China, in an effort to better cement their footing in the booming Chinese market

In recent years, China has steadily been rising as one of the world’s premier region for expansion especially in business-related areas. Upon considering the locations for their board meetings, O&M Worldwide Chairman and CEO Miles Young recommended Chengdu, seizing the opportunity for their “top leadership to understand and touch the nuances of all parts of China.”

Chengdu is the fourth largest city in China and one of the fastest-emerging cities among western China, enjoying a GDP growth rate of 15.2 percent, greatly surpassing the average 9.2 percent. This is precisely why more than 200 Fortune 500 global companies have pushed to set up operations in the region. Apart from that, O&M is seeking to increase their presence on Chinese second and third tiers to take advantage of its potentials.
