GroupM firm appoints new Asia-Pacific CEO

Neil Stewart has been appointed Chief Executive of Maxus Asia-Pacific, a media firm owned by WPP’s GroupM.  He is currently Marketing Director for Motorola’s Mobile Devices in Asia, but starts at Maxus on Feb. 23. Stewart will be based in Singapore, and report to worldwide CEO Kelly Clark.
Commenting on his new position, Stewart said, “The real innovation in the communications industry is coming from media agencies – both in the breadth of offer, and in the delivery of accountability that clients demand in these difficult times.”
Prior to Motorola, Stewart was Managing Director of One Barrack Street, an agency created to deliver total communications solutions to Vodafone Australia.  Before that, he held senior management roles with Motorola and Ogilvy in Australia and Asia.
A top 10 network in the Asia-Pacific, and one of the fastest-growing media agencies in the region, Maxus increased billings by 21% in 2008.
