GMA and ABS-CBN take home 4 metals for PH at 2012 New York Festivals

THE PHILIPPINES, APRIL 24, 2012: In the recently concluded 2012 New York Festivals International Film and TV Awards held April 17 at Las Vegas, Nevada, Philippine network giants ABS-CBN and GMA scooped four metals.
 
GMA contributed three Silvers for the Philippine for their work in Front Row: Bente Dos (Twnety-Two) under the biography and profiles category, Front Row: Yaman Sa Basura (Child Urban miners) under social issues/ current events, and I-Witness: Lapnos (Burn) under social issues/current events. ABS-CBN won one bronze for their work in Krusada: Laya (Freedom) under social issues/current events.
 
GMA also got the most number of finalist entries with a total of six shows. They are: Report Card, Pluma: Si Rizal, Ang Dakilang Manunulat(Rizal, The Great Writer), Born to be Wild: The Born Expeditions Finale, The Monster of Mae Klong and The Great White Shark, Reel Time: Lusong (Live to Dive), I-Witness: Gintong Putik, and Reel Time: Tira (Infected).
 
Four shows of ABS-CBN got finalists spots including Rated K: Kwento ng Buhay Ko (This is My Life) under magazine format, Storyline under biography/profiles, TV Patrol’s "Storm Juaning" under Best Newscast, and the network’s special documentary on the 25th anniversary of the 1986 People Power Revolution "EDSA25: Sulyap sa Kasaysayan (A Glimpse of History)."
 
Meanwhile, TV5 bagged two finalists spots with "Wanted – Child Special" and "News 5 Debates – A Challenge For Change."
