MVP now on Twitter

THE PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 24, 2012: "Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy. But here’s my Twitter. Follow me, maybe?"

These words came from Manuel "Manny" V. Pangilinan, chairman of PLDT and Smart Communications among others at the second day of the 6th Internet and Mobile Marketing Summit held at Power Plant Mall, Rockwell. MVP, as he is commonly referred to, ended his speech quoting Billboard top hitter song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen to announce his arrival on social media Twitter as @iammvp.

The business mogul’s move to join the netizens on Twitter is his way of declaring that his heart is now on digital. "For my heart to be truly digital, it’s time to act like a digital native," Pangilinan concludes.

"I am more digital than I had imagined — that my day-to-day life is enveloped by digital technologies," reflects Pangilinan.

@iamMVP’s first tweet is: "Just came from #IMMAPSummit2012 What a group. The new movers and shakers. Thank you for having me. I’m glad it’s over, what a relief :)"

Pangilinan’s Twitter account  description reads: Filipino. Businessman. Sports patron. Braving the digital shift". His account now has close to 7,000 followers.
