KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Tuesday August 21, 2013 – TBWA\Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia Society of Transplantation has launched a campaign based on the thought ‘Live on when you pass on’ as a move to encourage more organ donors in the country.
Launched early this month, the film showed how another life could go on when someone has passed on. The 80-minute video showed two scenarios – a man dying on a hospital bed and a woman getting better. When the man died, the nurse pulls up the blanket signifying his death, but on the other end of the blanket shows a woman who gets better.
“Things have come to a critical stage. We made a film to urge the public to register as organ donors," said Chow Kok Keong, creartive director of TBWA\Kuala Lumpur.
Statistics shows that Malaysia is as among the countries with the lowest number of organ donors in the world, with only an organ donor rate of 0.636 per cent per one million people. At present, there are over 22,932 patients on dialysis treatment and an additional 12,133 renal, liver, heart and lung failure patients on the waiting list.
