MANILA, JANUARY 22, 2013 – Hundreds of entries from the Philippines’ leading advertising practitioners are vying for honors at the 3rd Tinta Awards.
Recognized in the print advertising industry as “the toughest print show in the country”, the Tinta Awards – the Philippine Creative Print Awards was established to uphold creativity in print advertising and to champion the relevance of print media. It was conceived in 2008 by the United Print Media Group (UPMG), a trusted organization of local print media and publication companies committed to the development and pursuit of excellence in the country’s print industry.

The over-all chair of the Tinta committee is editor-in-chief Angel Guerrero of adobo magazine fame, with UPMG president Ricky Alegre and board secretary Jay
Sarmiento as co-chairs.
“I’ve always believed in creativity in advertising on print,” says Guerrero. “I believe print will remain a strong and relevant medium of communications. To get more readers interested in print, we
have to maintain creativity.”
A Bronze, Silver or Gold Tinta Award awaits winners of each competition category: print/advertising – consumer, print/magazine advertising – public service, interactive print campaign, integrated print campaign, special print media execution and online advertising campaign. The Grand Prix may be awarded above the Gold Tinta Award for exceptional submissions.
Entries for the student category will also have bronze, silver or gold awardees. The advertising agency that receives the highest score for all entries is hailed the Tinta Awards Agency of the Year.
Judging of the 130 entries for the 3rd Tinta Awards takes place on January 22 to 23, 2013 at the Buddha-Bar Manila. On January 25, the industry will gather at the Buddha-Bar Manila once again to declare and celebrate the winners of the 3rd Tinta Awards.
