MANILA, PHILIPPINES — An exciting weekend awaits museum enthusiasts as Ayala Museum celebrates International Museum Day (IMD) with a free entrance day for the public on Saturday, May 20.
In keeping with the global IMD theme of “Museums, Sustainability, and Well-being,” the museum is gearing up with special activities aimed on human and environmental wellness.
“Museums have proven time and again that they are not only spaces for learning and fascination with art and history. The beautiful and thoughtful architecture of many museums has been found to contribute to the mental health of visitors while simultaneously advocating for sustainability. This International Museum Day, Ayala Museum joins other museums around the world in giving the gifts of art and well-being to the public through a free admission day,” said Mariles Gustilo, Senior Director at Ayala Museum.
Aside from the special activities, nine exhibitions will be open to the public, including the exhibition Gold of Ancestors: Pre-colonial Treasures of the Philippines, the Diorama Experience of Philippine History, and the new Imprint exhibition on Fernando Zóbel.
Booth partners The British School Manila, Southville International School, Mama Sita’s, Lumi Candles PH, Elait, and Overdough will join Ayala Museum’s celebration.
