What if democracy could be imagined differently? What if, instead of focusing only on what is broken, we started visualizing what could be possible? Across 10 countries around the world, 100 visual artists have taken on that challenge.

In a global series of 48-hour creative bootcamps called SPRINTS: Reimagining Democracy, artists in London, São Paulo, Sofia, Manila, Ramallah, Goa, Johannesburg, Athens, Cairo, and Istanbul came together to explore one of the most urgent questions of our time: How might we rethink democracy for the future?

Developed by global creative studio Fine Acts in collaboration with One World or None (OWoN), the initiative invited artists to look beyond familiar images of elections, parliaments, and protest, drawing inspiration from emerging practices in participatory and deliberative democracy to imagine new ways of shaping our collective future.

The result is a collection of original artworks offering bold, imaginative, and culturally diverse visions of what democracy could become.

All artworks are now available on TheGreats.co, the world’s largest platform for open-licensed social-impact visuals, and can be freely downloaded, shared, and adapted for non-commercial purposes by activists, educators, organizations, and anyone working to drive positive change worldwide.

“Democracy is not a finished idea. It is something we can question, rethink, and reinvent together. But before we can build a different future, we need to be able to imagine it”, say Fine Acts.

“Reimagining democracy requires more than new policies or institutions. It requires new ways of seeing what is possible. Artists can help us move beyond the limits of today’s political imagination and spark conversations about the futures we want to create”, say OWoN.
