MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has officially unveiled its “2025 Year of the Wood Snake” postage stamps, a centerpiece of its annual celebration of Chinese New Year. Held at Robinsons Manila on January 23, the launch event brought together stamp enthusiasts and cultural advocates, blending tradition and artistry with a contemporary flair.

The Snake, as a revered symbol in Chinese mythology, embodies wisdom, intuition, creativity, and transformation. Its association with prosperity, fertility, and rebirth makes it a fitting icon for the coming year, brimming with hope and potential.

“We extend our wishes for peace, prosperity, and good fortune as we welcome the Year of the Wood Snake,” shared Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos. “Much like the snake’s symbolic wisdom and adaptability, good governance hinges on foresight, trust, and resilience – principles that guide us as we serve the Filipino people.”

Carlos added, “The Year of the Wood Snake will be propitious as more opportunities will come for PHLPost to establish better and invigorated courier services. We promise the public that mail and parcel delivery will be more efficient with the establishment of Barangay Postal Stations nationwide; the implementation of the new seven-digit alphanumeric Zip Code PH, which will standardize the addressing system in the country; and the further opening of next-day delivery hubs that will cater to more SMEs to help grow their businesses.”

The stamp exhibition is part of Robinsons Malls’ Prosperity Trail, an initiative designed to infuse the Chinese New Year celebration with vibrant cultural activities. Following its Robinsons Manila debut, the exhibition will travel to Robinsons Magnolia (January 24–26), Robinsons Galleria (January 28–30), and return to Robinsons Manila (January 31–February 2).

Another highlight is set for January 29 at Lucky Chinatown, featuring additional festivities that celebrate our rich heritage while fostering unity and collaboration across communities. These events not only honor the wisdom and diversity symbolized by the Year of the Snake but also underline PHLPost’s commitment to innovation, cultural preservation, and national pride.
