Rakuten Viber is launching a new ChatGPT-powered feature – Unread Recap, designed to get you up to speed the moment you open the app.
Unread Recap takes care of the chats you haven’t got to yet. Instead of scrolling back through busy conversations, you get a ChatGPT-powered summary of each one you’ve missed, then choose to mark it as read, keep it for later, or jump straight in. Nearly a third of Viber users have 20 or more unread messages on any given day, and Unread Recap turns that scroll marathon into a few seconds of reading.
Privacy safeguards apply throughout: when you ask ChatGPT to recap your unread chats, it only sees the unread messages and participants’ names needed to generate the recap and no other chat content. You can catch up with complete peace of mind.
The feature is rolled out globally now on the Viber mobile app.
