PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 3, 2011 – The Philippine office of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment management operation and parent company to WPP’s media agencies, has appointed Cynthia Dayco as Head of Digital effective February 2011.

“GroupM is no longer content with its agencies providing the best media planning and buying,” said Dayco. “Business demands that it be known for creative digital marketing solutions, too. My job is to combine the different strengths of our digital teams, to help our clients realize there’s more to Digital than buying banner ad space.”

Dayco brings to GroupM a unique perspective formed by two decades in advertising and marketing communication. She is an awarded creative director for Leo Burnett, Ammirati Puris Lintas, and JWT. She is also the founding editor of adobo magazine and led its team to win the Philippine Quill Awards for its digital platforms. After leaving the publication in July 2010, she served as freelance consultant to clients such as Nestle Philippines, Bates 141 Manila and Manila Polo Club.

GroupM CEO Manuel P. Quiogue, who handpicked Dayco for the newly created role, said, “With Cynthia joining us and with her wealth of experience not only in the digital arena but also from her track record as a creative director, advertisers can expect fresh groundbreaking ideas from the GroupM Digital team.”
