GLOBAL – NOVEMBER 2010 – In honor of the opening of the new Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida on 1.11.11, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners called on the hipster analog camera and digital app brand Hipstamatic to make photos look more surreal. Effects inspired by the work of the renowned Spanish surrealist can be downloaded for the iPhone and iTouch, or can be ordered for Hipstamatic cameras as the Dali Museum GoodPak .The pack comes with Salvador Lens and Film and a Dali camera body for Hipstamatics cameras. All proceeds from the sales will go to the museum in Florida.
Shutterbug surrealists can enter photos taken with their Dali effects in a contest judged by filmmaker, John Waters (Hairspray), perhaps the most appropriate person for the task, being himself a visual artist with a moustache as thin as those of the surrealist master. The top nine images will be exhibited at the museum, and the photographer of the best photo will be flown in for the museum’s gala opening in January.
