‘Transit’ vies for award at Busan Filmfest

MANILA – October 2, 2013 – Hannah Espia’s Transit is vying for another award, this time at the upcoming Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.

The film is competing against 11 other films from across Asia for the New Currents award, which is given to the two best feature films selected from the first or second works of new Asia directors. Winners of the award will receive 30,000 USD.

Other films in the category come from Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Iran, and India.

Earlier this year, Transit swept the awards in the New Breed category at the Cinemalaya Film Festival. The film was also selected to be the Philippine entry in the foreign language category at the 2014 Academy Awards.
