MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On World Environment Day, PLDT-Smart Gabay Kalikasan launched an online film that introduced the concept of reducing your carbon footprint by simply deleting your old and unused files up in the cloud.
The animated film, “Cloud,” tackles the dark side of storing files online. It shows us how our stored files make data centers consume more energy and how they contribute to almost 830 million tons of carbon dioxide emitted annually — that’s 2 percent of the global CO2 emissions.
The team, PLDT-Smart Gabay Kalikasan, Ace Saatchi and Saatchi, and Acid House took a storybook-like approach to get people to help #CleanTheCloud:
