Frazzled x Revolt turn digital skies into emotional weather reports to get Brits talking about mental health

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM – In a bold fusion of tech, emotion, and public space, comedian Ruby Wax’s mental health charity Frazzled has teamed up with creative agency Revolt to spark deeper conversations right above people’s heads. Launching in time for Mental Health Awareness Week, the campaign transforms Europe’s largest digital ceiling into an immersive, emotional weather report titled “The Feeling Ceiling.”

Set in Manchester’s Printworks, the ceiling is a sprawling 900 square meter digital canvas and transforms into a mental health mirror. Using high impact VFX crafted by Flipbook, the installation displays shifting weather visuals tied to emotional states. Think storm clouds spelling out “ANXIOUS?”, lightning flashes pulsing with “STRESSED?”, or fog creeping across the sky to whisper “BRAINFOG?”

Visitors answer a simple, disarming question: “What’s the weather like in your head today?” A quick tap on a touchscreen selects their mental forecast and the ceiling responds with an emotive weather animation tailored to that mood.

‘The Feeling Ceiling’ was the sole winner in the Printworks Skylights category of Ocean Outdoor’s 2024 Digital Creative Competition which each year seeks original bold new concepts in Digital Out of Home (DOOH).

Ruby Wax said: “Brits never shut up about the weather. So we start Frazzled sessions by asking ‘How’s the weather in your head today?’ to ease into those deeper conversations. Our ‘Feeling Ceiling’ brings that question to life, in the biggest, boldest way we could imagine. We hope to capture people’s attention and help more people weather their storms with Frazzled.”

Matt Roach, creative director at Revolt, said: “Winning the Gold and bringing this to life has certainly been good for my mental health. With the recent proliferation of AI slop, we loved designing these amazing real-life VFX with the wonderful humans at Flipbook. It’s sure to captivate visitors and start lots of vital conversations.”

Ocean Outdoor UK head of marketing Jennifer Bell said: “This idea looks and sounds amazing. Our competition judges liked how a complex issue had been boiled down into a neat idea which is completely immersive and perfectly crafted for Printworks SkyLights.”

According to Frazzled’s 2024 survey of over 1,200 attendees, 85% felt better after just one online session. Another UK wide study shows 86% feel stressed at least once a month, with 11% battling stress daily yet 45% rarely or never talk about it. With this campaign, Frazzled and Revolt are helping shift that stat.

The seven-day activation runs from May 12 to 18, with the digital skies coming to life for two hours each day.

Ocean’s 2025 Digital Creative Competitions which are held in seven European countries are now open for entries. The closing date is 29th August and it is free to enter.
