LONDON, UK – UK breakdown provider Green Flag has launched its new brand campaign, Nothing Beats Near, showcasing the value and strength of its local rescue network. The campaign marks the first major creative work from VCCP since winning the competitive pitch in December 2024 and aims to reframe the conversation around vehicle rescue by putting locality, speed and humour at its core.
At the heart of Nothing Beats Near lies a simple truth: in moments of crisis, proximity matters. Green Flag’s unique model, which combines a fleet of locally based patrol vehicles with a national network of independent garages, means help is never far away.
The campaign kicks off with a humorous yet insightful film titled The Misadventures of Simon, which follows an unlucky motorist who makes the misguided decision to go in search of help rather than wait for nearby assistance. What follows is a comedic odyssey involving mud, sheep and an unexpected encounter with a hippy commune. Meanwhile, his stranded passenger enjoys a swift rescue and relaxing dinner at a local pub thanks to Green Flag’s quick, local response.
Launching in primetime during Emmerdale on ITV, the campaign is a major media moment for the brand. It will run across an expansive mix of platforms, including TV, BVOD (ITVX, All4, Sky VOD), SVOD (Amazon Prime, Netflix), YouTube, cinema, and radio. The creative execution was led by VCCP’s global content studio Girl&Bear, in collaboration with director Tore Frandsen of production house Newland. Media planning and buying are being handled by Carat, with additional support from Global on radio partnerships.
