ABS-CBN, adobo magazine, Hinge Inquirer and Manila Water are finalists in the Asian Publishing Awards 2011

ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, THAILAND, JUNE 2011 – The Asian Publishing Convention (APC) due to hold its 5th annual magazine and digital publishing event on July 7 and 8 at The Landmark Bangkok, has announced the 26 finalists for the Asian Publishing Awards 2011. This is a premium shortlist by the international judges from a strong field of 63 entries involving 29 media companies from nine countries. 
 
Four entries from the Philippines have been shortlisted for the awards. Hinge Inquirer Publications’ Targeted Multimedia Platform is a finalist in the Innovative Business Models Category. adobo magazine’s digital platforms has been nominated in the Effective Digital Publishing Category. In Best Use of Screen Tablet Platform, ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc.’s Metro Magazine iPad Edition has been cited; in the Innovative Corporate Communications in a Multi-Media World Category, Manila Water’s The Path of Pat Tubig:  Water and Wastewater Trail Program is a finalist.
 
The Asian Publishing Awards recognizes best multimedia practices in magazine, book and corporate communications sectors. The magazine sector awards cover multimedia consumer research, advertising delivery, new business models, effective digital publishing, user-generated content, screen tablet platforms, social networks and design. The book awards recognize multimedia marketing and writing on media or socio-economic aspects relevant to Asia. 
 
The awards for corporate communications identify best multimedia usage and innovative campaigns in a multimedia context. In addition, this year APC inaugurates the Photo Awards, sponsored by SMARTTPAPERS Aviation Pte. Ltd. The theme selected this year is FASHION. There will be a photo gallery of works from leading fashion photographers from the region. 
 
The Asian Publishing Convention interfaces print editors and publishers with digital, mobile, screen platform and social media experts in intensive 90-minute workshops over two days. 
 
The Convention is hosted by The Magazine Association of Thailand (TMAT), while the Publishing Awards is sponsored by Atex software solutions. Swiss Post International and Synovate are premium sponsors of the APC.
