A year of more fun in the Philippines

MANILA, OCTOBER 5, 2012 – The Department of Tourism has released its official AVP for the “It’s More Fun In the Philippines” campaign, setting off the two-plus minute mark with historical quirks.

"We’re a country named after a Spanish King. To which an American general vowed to return. Or as someone described our history, ‘300 years in a convent, and 50 years in Hollywood.’”

The video, uploaded on Youtube and launched on DoT’s Facebook page, also highlighted the diversity of the Philippines’ 7,107 islands, mouthwatering food, strange animals and of course, the people.

DoT has hired Dentsu Philippines as its media agency for the second phase of the campaign, but BBDO Guerrero will continue to handle all country-branding creative materials.
