THE PHILIPPINES, APRIL 24, 2012: Kidlat Festival 2012 reveals additional speakers for Kidlat 2012 and they are award-winning furniture designer Ito Kish and prolific young designer and sculptor Leeroy New.
Kish started out as a management trainee who helped oversee the visual merchandising of Robinsons Galleria. Since that time, his design work has helped open malls all over Indonesia (20 at last count!), generated its own brand (as Kish, one of Manila’s top home stuff shops), been sought out by the top real estate developers and telecom providers, and made it to Wallpaper Magazine in their Manila design feature.
New went on a rampage of heavyweight stints from winning the Grand Prize for Sculpture at the Metrobank Art Awards, to bagging the nomination of the Signature Art Prize of 2011, to producing storefront design for Sputnik Comic Ba in Cubao X, to most recently getting one of his creations, a rubber-cast bustier chosen, by Lady Gaga as her outfit for one of her music videos.
