Join us for adobo SheCreative Network’s first Leadership Conference, Women Arise!

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In celebration of National Women’s Month, adobo magazine is holding its first adobo SheCreative Network Leadership Conference “Women Arise!” at Shangri-La The Fort, BGC on Tuesday, March 28. The event will be filled with ideas, inspiration, leadership, community, and conversations that create, and celebrate movements for change led by women in the business of creativity. Afternoon snacks will be served, followed by cocktails in the evening for networking among peers.

Our first large in-person gathering will be conducted by today’s most successful women-led companies across the fields of marketing, media, and creative communications. We make space to share how they made it to the top, what drives them, and how they’re growing and strengthening their team, brands, and industry.

Headlining the event is keynote speaker Bernadette Romulo Puyat, followed by guest speakers composed of industry trailblazers.

Bernadette Romulo Puyat – Deputy Governor, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas

Bernadette Romulo Puyat is appointed as Deputy Governor for Regional Operations and Advocacy Sector (ROAS) at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). She also serves as an alternate to the Governor in several Governing Boards of National Agencies. Previously, she served as Secretary of the Department of Tourism, with Sustainable Tourism as the overarching theme of her leadership. Some of her most notable efforts were towards the recovery of the tourism sector during the COVID-19 pandemic such as the vaccination of tourism workers, as well as the institutionalization and planning of health and safety protocols in various tourism establishments and destinations.

 

Margot Torres – Managing Director, McDonald’s Philippines 

Margot Torres is an award-winning Managing Director of McDonald’s largest market in Southeast Asia. She was also 2-term President for PANA and IMMAP. With her contributions to the marketing and advertising industry, she was tapped by the private sector to be the communications lead for the public-private partnership efforts in managing the country’s Covid crisis, including mass vaccination roll out. Margot is an advocate for diversity, equality and inclusion, and she’s an active member of the NextGen Organization of Women Corporate Directors (NOWCD). 

 

Mariles Gustilo –  Senior Director, Arts & Culture, Ayala Foundation, Inc., Manila and Senior Director, Ayala Museum, Manila 

Ma. Elizabeth “Mariles” Gustilo is the Senior Director of Arts and Culture at Ayala Foundation and concurrently the Senior Director of the Ayala Museum. Since she joined the Ayala Museum in 2012, the museum has undergone renewed dynamism to engage audiences both local and abroad. In 2022, she spearheaded a collaboration between Ayala Museum and Museo Nacional del Prado to launch the landmark exhibition, Fernando Zobel: The Future of Past in Madrid, Spain. Prior to joining Ayala Foundation, Mariles built a successful career in advertising and marketing for over 25 years. Her last post was President and CEO of Lowe Philippines (now known as MullenLowe).

Maricelle Narciso  –  Current member, Philippine Navy Board of Advisers; Former Country General Manager, PepsiCo, Inc.

Maria Celeste “Maricelle” Narciso joined PepsiCo, Inc. as the first Filipino Country General Manager since 1946 and retired in mid-2019 with a solid record of excellent business performance, two global corporate reorganizations, and a major change in the national bottler ownership. She is currently a member of the Philippine Navy Board of Advisers and heading its Strategic Communications Committee; a Board of Trustees member of the NextGen Organization of Women Corporate Directors (NOWCD); and a Board of Trustees member of the Philippine Women’s Economic Network (PhilWEN). She is also a corporate director and investor in two start-up businesses in the fields of technology and medical services, and an active school board member of a modest-sized private school.  

 

Pebbles Sy – Chief Technology and Operations Officer, GCash

As the CTOO of GCash, Pebbles Sy is responsible for the Technology, Customer Experience Management and Operations section of the business. Prior to her current role at Mynt which operates GCash, she was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Globe Telecom where she led the IT transformation and delivered a re-energized IT strategy and landscape. She has been with Globe for 18 years, and is instrumental in many of its successes including the adoption of the cloud-first policy, making Globe the largest consumer of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the region; completion of key digitization initiatives; and the standardization of the product design and delivery process. She is a firm believer of driving innovation from within, and is passionate about creating a great company culture that naturally drives wonderful experiences.

 

Kitty Calderon – Head of Marketing, Lazada Philippines

Kitty is Lazada Philippines’ Head of Marketing. Under her leadership, the Lazada Marketing team launched the brand’s new positioning “Add to Cart, Add to Life,” alongside iconic Mega and Double-Digit Sale campaigns featuring the top brand ambassadors of the country. She is currently leading the team in mounting iconic campaigns. Lazada continues to empower female buyers and sellers through LazBeauty & LazLook, and personally aims to have fellow women leaders succeed in the organization. She previously held various business unit head roles in media agencies across the Philippines, Singapore, and Australia, looking after FMCG, Finance, Tech, Pharmaceutical and Real Estate industries.

 

The event will be hosted by Nikki De Guzman, a news anchor for ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), and co-anchor for the 7am Rundown on weekdays. She also anchors ANC Headlines on weekends and hosts REV+, a lifestyle show on the channel. She works at DZMM Teleradyo as a newsbreak anchor for Balita Ngayon, and as a one-down anchor for flagship newscast, Headline Pilipinas. Outside newscasting, she works as an events host and moderator, as well as a voice over talent. She is also proficient in public speaking as commencement speaker and frequent panelist for webinars and events hosted by various universities and companies.
