Mobext tackles Beauty Bar e-commerce

MANILA, APRIL 22, 2013 – Beauty Bar has appointed Mobext to be on top of a new mobile commerce site it is launching (the first within the blue-chip Store Specialists Inc) for smartphones and tablets.

The mCommerce site will include the full catalogue of their products, t sets, sale schedules, and an easy check-out system for credit card and GCASH users, with free shipping for purchases above Php 2,500 (around 60 USD). The store exclusively carries "non-mainstream" brands such as Smashbox, Burt’s Bees, Prestige, Palladio, theBalm and ArtDeco.

Beauty Bar marketing officer Thea Lizardo is optimistic that this new initiative will pave the way for other SSI brands to get into mobile commerce. “Beauty Bar prides itself in being at the forefront when it comes to technology and customer servicing. The success of our online store encouraged our brands like Lush, Fruits & Passion, Marks & Spencer, and Office One, to create an online presence as well. Mobile is the next wave we definitely want to be on."

In the Philippines, SSI is the exclusive distributor of 50 top international lifestyle and luxury brands including Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, and many others.

On their partnership with Mobext, Lizardo said that working with a specialized mobile agency “and not simply an agency gone 360,” matched with the agency’s strong presence in international markets, earned them the job for Beauty Bar’s first mobile initiative.

“Mobile is definitely the future of commerce. Consumers now no longer need to be inside a store or in front of their computers to make a purchase—now it can be done anywhere and at anytime. It’s a very powerful sales channel for business,” said Arthur Policarpio, head of Mobext Asia Pacific. “We are happy to partner with Beauty Bar in bringing more solutions to consumers via mobile.”
