Outdoor Lions jury chooses two Grand Prixes

 Perhaps to compensate for the Radio Lions’ lack of a Grand Prix, the Outdoor jury gave the top prize to two entries: the Diesel “Smart” billboard campaign by Anomaly New York and the Andes “Teletransporter” Del Campo/Nazca Saachi & Saatchi Buenos Aires.

 
The Diesel campaign marks the return of copywriting to the medium, with its witty headlines which sell the brand’s personality rather than its clothes.
 
The other Grand Prix was awarded to Del Campo/Nazca Saachi & Saatchi’s ingenious machine, the Andes “Transporter”, which gave young barflies convincing alibis around Argentina. Installed in bars, the soundproof booth produced ambient sound effects of hospitals, bar mitzvahs, traffic jams–whatever young men needed to persuade their suspicious ladies that they were anywhere but in a bar.
