ADFEST 2019 is fast approaching and we’re counting down the days until it officially starts. The program is out, the speakers and sessions have been shared, and the jury names have been announced. In the next few days leading up to ADFEST’s official opening, we’ll be sharing everything you need to know about the biggest advertising conference in Southeast Asia, happening in Pattaya, Thailand.

 

Jury President: Mark Tutssel
Executive Chairman & Global Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett Worldwide, Chicago

One of the most awarded creative directors in the industry, Mark’s work has garnered every major creative accolade. During his tenure, Mark has won over 600 Cannes Lions, including nine Cannes Grand Prix, three Titanium Lions, four Glass Lions, the first ever D&AD White Pencil, two D&AD Black Pencils, 6 Clio Grand Prix, four One Show Best of Show Pencils, two ADC Black Cubes, and two Emmy Awards. Campaign Magazine named Mark the ‘No.1 Worldwide Creative Director’.

 

Ali Brown
Partner & Executive Producer, PRETTYBIRD, Los Angeles
 
Brown began her career in the commercial and music video industry before moving over to feature films where she served as Director of Creative Affairs at Spirit Dance, a production company helmed by veteran director/actor/producer Forest Whitaker. Upon her return to advertising, she helped build the PRETTYBIRD roster and reputation, expanding its reach across commercials, short films, features, web series, and music videos. PRETTYBIRD’s work has been recognized worldwide, including by the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the One Show, the Clio Awards, the London International Awards, D&AD, British Arrows, the AICP Awards, as well as being named Creativity Magazine’s Top Production Company of the Year for 2015.
 
 
Ali Rez
Regional Creative Director, IMPACT BBDO Middle East & Pakistan, Dubai & Lahore
 
Rez spent most of his career in the USA, where he worked for more than a decade on global brands such as ChevronTexaco, HP, 7Up, Dr Pepper, Adobe, and the band INXS (which is a crazy story), before moving to the Middle East. Having worked in 6 different countries on 4 continents, Rez is now based in Dubai working for the Middle East and Pakistan, from where he has won Campaign Asia Agency of the Year twice, AdStars Agency of the Year, and has helped BBDO Worldwide win Network of the Year at Cannes Lions, Effies, and Dubai Lynx.
 
Kate Hyewon Oh
Chief Creative Officer, Cheil Worldwide, Seoul
 
She leads the strategy, creative direction and production of integrated campaigns for clients, such as Samsung electronics, GM, Korea Telecom, Anheuser-Busch InBev and many others.

In 2012, she won 2 Gold Lions in Promo & Activation for her Samsung Camera campaign “Insight”.
 

 
Mitsuyuki Nakamura
Global President, Dentsu X, London
 
Under Nakamura’s tenure, dentsu X Thailand accelerated its service diversity to deliver integrated solutions alongside transforming from a traditional media agency into a full-service agency. He oversaw a threefold growth in business size, climbed the agency rankings, built a reputation for  great work, and was recipient of unprecedented awards and recognition – chief of which was the ‘quad crown’: Media Agency of the Year, Digital Agency of the Year, Creative Agency of the Year, and Integrated Agency of the Year. This was an historical first in the agency world, and definitive proof that there are no boundaries between media, digital and creative. Nakamura was also named Jury President of Media Lotus and the inaugural Branded Content & Entertainment Lotus category in 2015. It is widely evidenced that Nakamura’s leadership has been a strong force behind the company’s ascension to the top tiers of the market.
 
 
Natalie Lam
International Executive Creative Director, New York

Originally from Hong Kong, now based in NY since the early 90s and before the internet was born, Natalie started as a Print Designer and made her way into the integrated advertising world. She was Executive Creative Director for agencies such as OgilvyOne, R/GA, McCann Erickson, Razorfish and Google’s inhouse agency Art, Copy & Code, leading the growth of creative departments and was fortunate enough to work with some of the world’s most iconic brands including Nike, Spotify, Adidas, Cadillac, IKEA. She was part of the original small crew that created Nike+. Her work won her top awards in Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, Clio, ADC, Clios and she was a frequent judge in said competitions.

 

Prasoon Joshi
CEO & CCO of McCann Worldgroup India; Chairman of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific, Mumbai
 
He is an internationally acclaimed advertising professional, as well as being a celebrated film writer and lyricist. He’s also been designated a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum.
 
Under his leadership, vision and craft, McCann India has become a powerhouse that has the pulse of this diverse market of 1.3 billion consumers.
 
Prasoon’s focus on creative excellence is proven year in and year out by honors in Cannes, by winning the first D&AD Gold Award in India and in winning Grand Prix awards across multiple international awards show. McCann India has been rated as the Number 1 creative agency by The Gunn Report for three consecutive years, with Prasoon being honored as the “South Asia Agency Head of the Year” at the 2018 Campaign Agency of the Year show. 
 
 
Yang Yeo
Asia Pacific Creative Kaiju, Hakuhodo Inc., Singapore

 

Known for his infectious laughter, Yang is also famed for his multidisciplinary creative talent. His advertising work have won Grand Prix in many international award shows, named ‘Creative of the Year’, ‘Agency of the Year’, and ‘Marketer of the Year’.
 
Yang’s structural and spatial projects were equally celebrated globally, including the UNESCO award for conservation. His creative reputation, solid leadership and consistent track record earned him the PDA ‘Designer of the Year’ accolade.
