Global – Unveiled at Ad Week in New York recently was Ogilvy & Mather’s Yahoo! campaign.  As reported in Brand Republic, the internet giant revealed the creative and campaign details behind its first major marketing blitz in seven years.  The launch coincided with its redesigned homepage going live.

Reports state Yahoo!’s US$100million global ad campaign carries the new tagline “Y!OU” created by O&M.  Of the reported sum, Yahoo! is mum on individual market spend, with the campaign rolling out in the US, India, France, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan.

The campaign’s Asian debut is scheduled by end-2009.

In addition, Revolution magazine reports that Yahoo! expects this massive ad campaign to see it through its most shaky period in fifteen years of operations.

Focused on personalization and access to multiple services and online information, the global will run until the end of 2010.  The integrated, cross-platform campaign carries strong digital support.

Also freshly launched, Yahoo’s redesigned homepage features a hodge-podge of applications including links to social networking sites like Facebook, and direct access to Gmail and AOL.

In addition, Yahoo Search will include video ads and key products when people search for branded keywords on the search engine, while Yahoo! Mobile will offer ringtones of the ‘Yahoo yodel’.

The campaign will run online ads across its network, mobile sites and the homepage with expandable banners on how to take the "Y!OU" web experience on the go.
