REGIONAL, MAY 27, 2013 – Yahoo! Asia Pacific has announced that effective immediately, Yahoo! Philippines head Arlene Amarante has assumed the post of head of display advertising at Yahoo! Southeast Asia. She is to be based in Singapore and will be tasked with oversight of advertising sales operations in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.
Commenting on this elevation, Yvonne Chang, managing director – Yahoo! India & SEA, said, “Arlene has been instrumental in growth of Yahoo! in Philippines, where it grew six fold in revenue during her tenure. I am very excited to have her play a role at regional level, and replicate her success working in tandem with country teams.”
Sharing her reaction, Amarante said, “It’s an honor to lead the regional display business for entire SEA. We have a terrific brand, strong relations with advertisers, and a growing audience base. I would love to build on the momentum Yahoo! has created in the region.”
SEA regional product marketing manager Kate Delos Reyes is to take over from Amarante as Yahoo! Philippines country ambassador and country editor. She is to manage newsroom operations and work on audience growth strategies for the Yahoo! Philippines homepage.
Additionally, digital sales manager Mike Constantino was promoted to senior digital solutions manager, and in this capacity will spearhead the work of Yahoo! Philippines’ advertising sales division.
