PHILIPPINES – MAY 2011 – Recognized as one of the world’s most creative and influential wedding videographers whose works have raised the bar for Same Day Edit (SDE) event videos, Jason Magbanua steps out from behind the scenes to speak at Ayala Museum’s popular DesignTalks lecture series on June 18, 1:30 pm.
The Jason Magbanua brand of videography is synonymous to rich imagery and high saturation, seamless storytelling and well thought out scoring, leaving his large base of clientele, including celebrities, at a loss for words.
The honesty of captured emotions is his team’s signature mark. “My shooting style is highly unobtrusive and candid. I don’t get in the way,” Magbanua says, “I don’t direct events but rather, wait for them to unfold.” Style and technique are important but secondary to his team as these are easily replicable, noting also that theirs is of constant evolution so “copycats” are the least of Magbanua’s concerns.
Now more than a decade into the industry, the caliber he has set for wedding videography has garnered him widespread acclaim in and out of the country, and a demand of at least 100 productions per year.
Tickets to the lecture are priced at Php300 for adult professionals, discounted to Php150 for students, teachers, senior citizens and Ayala Museum members. Museum admission is included in the lecture fee.
DesignTalks was launched in 2010 to provide a platform to groundbreaking Filipino designers from various creative fields. Inviting speakers such as Kenneth Cobonpue, Rajo Laurel, Budji Layug and Royal Pineda, and now Jason Magbanua, allows a wider breadth of audiences to learn about design as well as to be inspired by the process, technique and experience these cutting edge designers impart.
