MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The “Kwentong Jollibee” Valentine’s series is one that has quickly made a home in every Filipino’s heart since its debut in 2017. From heartaches to happily ever after, the stories told by the beloved fast food company have resonated well with its audience, making it a cultural phenomenon and definitely a cultural treasure. 
 
During the premiere of the third set of videos to Jollibee’s Valentine’s series, we got the chance to talk to the directors of the films, and its creators from Jollibee itself and their partner agency, McCann Worldgroup Philippines.

“Anniversary” is a story about the hardships of balancing love and life, and the sacrifices one has to make to have both. 
 
It is directed by award-winning filmmaker Pepe Diokno, who is most famous for his critically-acclaimed film, Engkwentro. This is the second time he has worked with Jollibee on its beloved Valentine’s series; the first of which goes back to 2017 when the campaign first launched, with the heartwarming “Date”. 
 
Since its release on February 7, the film has garnered a total of 5.7M views on Facebook with almost 100K shares. 
 
adoboLIVE! with Director Joel Ruiz, Kwentong Jollibee’s “The Proposal” (2019)

“The Proposal” is a story about love lost and found again. 
 
The short film is directed by Joel Ruiz, who has been working with Jollibee on the beloved Valentine’s series since its debut in 2017 when he directed “Crush” followed by its sequel “Homecoming” the next year. 
 
Ruiz is a local film director and producer who has wowed the Filipino audience with his work on Ang Ibang Mga Pamilya (2008), Mansyon (2005), Baby Angelo (2008) and his most recent film, “Kung Paano Siya Nawala” (2018).
 
Since its release on February 4, the film has garnered over 7.6M views on Facebook with almost 145K shares.
