Bangkok – The ADFEST Working Committee is delighted to announce new festival dates for ADFEST 2010, which will now take place on 27th – 29th May at the Pattaya Exhibition & Conference Hall in Thailand.
ADFEST 2010 was originally scheduled to take place on 18th – 20th March, but was postponed due to uncertain political circumstances in Thailand.
“After watching events unfold closely in Thailand over the past few weeks, we are happy to say the cloud has passed. When we reluctantly called for a postponement, we simply did not know if our delegates, judges or speakers would experience inconveniences or travel delays due to the planned political rallies. Now that the rallies have occurred peacefully and dialogues have begun, we are confident that they can again travel to Thailand with their minds at ease,” says Vinit Suraphongchai, Chairman of the ADFEST Working Committee.
“It was an extremely difficult decision to postpone ADFEST, but we felt it was imperative to protect the legacy that ADFEST has built up over the past thirteen years as a fun, enjoyable and professionally-run event. Now that the dust has settled, we are delighted to announce ADFEST will take place on 27-29th May 2010. We have endeavored to choose dates that won’t clash with any other major industry events and would like to thank our friends around the region for their empathy, concern and continued support,” says Vinit.
In arriving at this new date, ADFEST had in the meantime sent out questionnaires to the various advertising associations in the region requesting a preference for 27-29 May or 29-31 July 2010. The majority opted for 27-29 May 2010.
ADFEST 2010 is being re-scheduled with minimum disruption to the original festival line-up.
Entries to ADFEST 2010 have already closed, and will include 14 different categories: Film; Press; Poster; Outdoor; Radio; Cyber; Direct; Design; Print Craft; Film Craft; New Director; 360; INNOVA, and Lotus Roots.
Delegates who have not yet registered with ADFEST 2010 are now invited to do so via www.adfest.com. The theme for this year’s event is, ‘REFRESH’, based on ADFEST’s legacy as the region’s friendliest and most inspiring advertising festival, located in beautiful tropical Pattaya, Thailand.
