MET calls for entries for first benefit exhibition

MANILA – The Metropolitan Museum of Manila has launched the MET Open 2014, a benefit exhibition featuring modern and contemporary art works in the Philippines based on the time frame of the Museum’s survey exhibition, The Philippine Contemporary: To Scale the Past and the Possible.

The MET OPEN 2014 issued an open call and invitation to artists, collectors and their authorized representatives to submit entries until August 16, 2014. Artworks will be exhibited at the Museum’s Tall Galleries from September 8 till 20. 

Six of the country’s respected curators will curate the exhibition and annotate on the divergent practices in the visual arts today.

The exhibition will prove to be a prestigious opportunity for new creations of promising artists to dialogue with important artworks of established figures in the art scene. It provides a rare occasion for artists to pose continuing challenges for visual and conceptual innovation.

Proceeds from the sale of the artworks will benefit the exhibition and education programs of the Museum. Entry Forms and guidelines are available online or at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila Information Desk.
