Cannes Lions 2019: Asian Agencies Shortlisted in Creative Effectiveness Lions, Brand Experience & Activation Lions, and Creative eCommerce Lions

Cannes Lions 2019 has released the shortlists for Creative Effectiveness Lions, Brand Experience & Activation Lions, and Creative eCommerce Lions. One out of the three is under the Impact track, while the other two are under the Experience track.

Impact: Creative Effectiveness Lions

Among those in the shortlist came from only two countries in Asia: Thailand and India.

Wunderman Thompson Bangkok from Thailand got in with their “Hair Talk” for Unilever.

FCBUlka Delhi from India got in with their “Sindoor Khela” campaign for The Times of India.

Experience: Brand Experience & Activation Lions

9 countries in Asia got into the Brand Experience & Activation Lions shortlist: Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, and India.

Among those 9 countries are 17 agencies: Interesting Time Beirut (1), TBWA\RAAD Dubai (2), McCann Tel Aviv (4), Voskhod Ekaterinburg Russia (1), Impact BBDO Dubai (9), R/GA Tokyo (1), TBWA\Hakuhodo Inc. Tokyo (2), Sberbank of Russia Moscow (1), Cheil Worldwide Seoul (1), VMLY&R Dubai (1), Dentsu x Singapore (1), FF Shanghai (2), Leo Burnett Israel Bnei-Brak (1), FCBUlka Delhi (1), Dentsu Webchutney Bangalore (1), and Ogilvy Singapore (1) with 30 entries from Asia all in all.

One out of the 9 entries from Impact BBDO Dubai is their “The Blank Edition” for An-Nahar, which is actually a blank newspaper, and which already won the Grand Prix award for the Print & Publishing category at Cannes Lions 2019.

Experience: Creative eCommerce Lions

For the Creative eCommerce Lions, three countries from Asia got into the shortlist: China, Japan, and India. 

The Asian agencies include Isobar China Group Shanghai (3), Hakuhodo Inc. Tokyo (1), and Dentsu Webchutney Bangalore (2) with six shortlisted entries all in all.

Dentsu Webchutney Bangalore’s shortlisted entry is their “Hagglebot” for Flipkart.
