Fox International Channels cops five Golden Globes

ASIA-PACIFIC, JANUARY 18, 2012: Fox International Channels (FIC) emerged victorious at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hauling in five trophies out of eight nominations in the TV categories.
 
The critically acclaimed “Modern Family” received the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical. The show went up against fellow Fox programs “Episodes”, “Glee”, and “New Girl”.
 
“Homeland”, which will premier in the second quarter of this year on a yet-unannounced FIC channel, copped the Best Television Series – Drama award. Claire Danes, who stars as CIA Officer Carrie Mathison in Homeland, brought home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama.
 
Matt LeBlanc, who made his mark as Joey in the sitcom Friends, won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical trophy for his portrayal of himself in “Episodes”. Jessica Lange, meanwhile, scored the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role in American Horror Story. The series will premiere on FX in major territories across Asia in April.
 
Actors Madeleine Stowe (Revenge), Zooey Deschanel (New Girl), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) and Mireille Enos (The Killing) received nominations for their performances. “New Girl”, “Glee”, and “Californication” have also been nominated in the Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical category.
 
FIC’s entertainment channels – STAR World, FOX and FX – have already begun the broadcast of or will air these award-winning shows and other nominated programs throughout major Asian territories across Asia.
