BREAKING NEWS: Thailand’s political unrest forces cancellation of ADFEST

The organizers of ADFEST  announced  that due to the current situation in Thailand, the 3-day festival scheduled for 27-29 of May in Pattaya, Thailand has been cancelled and the Lotus Awards judging will be held at a new location, to be confirmed in the near future. 

Vinit Suraphongchai, Chairman of the ADFEST Working Committee said, “Since the announcement of new dates for the festival, the political rallies have become increasingly unpredictable. With the safety of our delegates and guests of utmost importance, we have no choice but take precautionary measures.”

Despite the cancellation of the much loved ADFEST event, the Working Committee assures that the Lotus Awards competition will still go ahead. It is in the process of finding an alternative venue for the judging, which will take place from 24-28 May, when the winners of the 2010 Lotus Awards will be determined. They also assure those who entered the competition that the Lotus winners would be announced immediately after the judging was completed.

Jimmy Lam, President of the ADFEST Working Committee who is responsible for the judging of the awards said, “The commitment of our invited judges has remained strong and we are determined that ADFEST Lotus Awards will be announced as planned, despite the unusual circumstances that we have had to deal with this year.”
