Spikes Asia and the festival’s Official Partner, Tiger Beer, have announced the five shortlisted teams selected to take part in the Young Spikes x Tiger Beer #RareStripes Design competition. 180 teams of two applied for the opportunity to compete live at the Spikes Asia Festival, taking place from the 25-27 September 2019 at Suntec, Singapore.
Spikes Asia brings Asia Pacific’s creative community together for three days of learning, inspiration and networking. The Festival’s Official Partnership with Tiger Beer, Asia’s number one international premium beer, will support raw and emerging talent to uncage their tiger and create opportunities and a platform for emerging creative talent to shine.
Applications for the Young Spikes x Tiger Beer #RareStripes Design competition were reviewed by Spikes Asia and Tiger Beer representatives to select the best creative teams to compete at the finals at Spikes Asia festival. Each shortlisted team will receive a creative brief one week before the event. They will then need to produce a conceptual #RareStripes idea that answers the brief. This could be a design, product, experiential, or creative communications idea that can be produced to spread awareness about the Tiger Beer Saving Wild Tigers programme. The competition will culminate in a live judging session during Spikes Asia, where the winning team will be selected.
The shortlisted teams all receive a complimentary Festival pass. Flights and accommodation are covered by Spikes Asia for overseas teams. The winning team will then get an opportunity to collaborate with Tiger Beer and have their eventual concept brought to life and sold commercially as a part of the Tiger Beer #RareStripes collection.
Joe Pullos, Festival Director of Spikes Asia, said: “Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity supports young and emerging talent from across Asia Pacific to get ahead in the industry, providing a prestigious platform to raise their creative potential. It has been a huge privilege to partner with Tiger Beer on the #RareStripes competition and it’s been so inspiring to see the amazing portfolios entered from across the region. I’d like to say thanks to all those who applied and I’m hugely looking forward to seeing the finalists present their creative brief ideas live at the festival.”
Venus Teoh, International Brands Director for Tiger Beer, commented: “I was thoroughly impressed by the calibre of the applications. A big thanks to the all the raw talent who applied and congratulations to the five finalists, whose applications were just a notch above the others. The Tiger Beer team is excited to meet them in Singapore and based on the quality we have seen so far, we can expect some nice competition during the live judging session.”
