ASIA-PACIFIC, MARCH 16, 2012: The apprentice of highly acclaimed Australian director David Denneen has landed a coveted spot in ADFEST 2012’s Fabulous Four competition.
Ariel Martin beat out 20 other hopefuls and will travel to Pattaya to compete with three other young directors. Said Filmgraphics Entertainment’s (FGE) executive producer Anna Fawcett: “David is always looking for talented directors and he knows that Ariel has what it takes both in writing and directing skills to make his mark in the advertising industry.”
Denneen, who also owns FGE, directed the Academy Award winning short film “Leisure”, and has also worked with high-profile celebrities like Michael Jordan, Michael J. Fox, Peter Falk, Brooke Shields, Naomi Watts, Derek Jeter, Richard Gere, Jackie Chan, Leslie Nielsen, and Dustin Hoffman.
The entrants were required to write a four-minute script following the festival’s “Fast Forward” theme. Once selected, the Fabulous Four were given a month to turn their scripts into short films. The final works will premiere on March 20, marking the last day of ADFEST this year.
