CANNES – Steve Stoute and Naomi Campbell host an exclusive Cannes Lions celebration for The Defiant Ones – a film by Allen Hughes – with a featured performance by worldwide rap superstar, Future. The party is led by Translation, in partnership with HBO.
Hosted exclusively for Cannes Lions creative delegates, the invitation only party on Tuesday 20th June will celebrate the diversity and defiance in the creative fields, and the adversity that many overcome to achieve their end goals.
The Defiant Ones is a four-part documentary series that tells the stories of Jimmy Iovine and Dr.Dre – one the son of a Brooklyn longshoreman, the other straight out of Compton. The series explores their improbable partnership and surprising leading roles in a series of transformative events in contemporary culture.
Steve Stoute is the Founder and CEO of the brand development and marketing firm Translation and author of The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy.
Steve noted, “Cannes Lions is all about celebrating creativity, and for me it’s the creatives who are responsible for pushing the industry forward; they are our defiant ones. That’s why we wanted to throw a celebration specifically for this community”.
