WPP in top 50 World’s Greenest Companies 2014

The Newsweek Green Rankings, one of the world’s foremost assessments of corporate environmental performance, has rated WPP as the 49th greenest of the 500 largest publicly-traded companies worldwide. 

In partnership with Corporate Knights Capital and leading sustainability minds from nongovernmental organizations and the academic and accounting communities, Newsweek ranked the world’s largest companies on corporate sustainability and environmental impact.

Companies are scored based on their performance on eight specific indicators, including energy, carbon, waste and water productivity.

WPP scored 49.6% in energy productivity; 52.7% in carbon productivity, and 74.3% in waste productivity. Its Newsweek green score was 62.1%.

French telecommunications company Vivendi topped the list with a Newsweek green score of 85.3%. The full list is available online
