The Safety Report highlights significant actions taken during the first half of 2024, including the following:

  • Rejection of 20.4 million product listings for failing to meet platform standards;
  • Removal of 124,000 restricted or prohibited products after listing;
  • Disabling of e-commerce features for over 500,000 creators due to policy violations.

  • Over 5 million products with potential IPR infringements were proactively prevented from going live on the platform.
  • 497,026 products were removed after being identified as violating intellectual property rules.
  • 800,000 livestreams and videos that breached IPR policies were taken down.

TikTok Shop’s approach to IPR governance ensures that both brands and consumers are protected from counterfeit or infringing products, reinforcing its position as a reliable and transparent e-commerce platform. The report highlights the platform’s proactive measures, which include early detection of IPR violations and enforcement actions to remove counterfeit products and unauthorized content promptly.

The workshop covered the basics of IP registration and trademark protection, as well as best practices to avoid infringement complaints.
