Mashable launches site dedicated to Asia

ASIA – Mashable has expanded its operations to Asia with a fresh website and headquarters in Singapore. It marks the 10-year old company’s fourth international site, which now includes Mashable Australia, U.K., and India.

Mashable Asia officially went live yesterday headed by Victoria Ho, a former migme Senior Editor. Mashable has also hired Gwendolyn Regina as Director of Strategy and Business Development for Asia Pacific. They are both based outside of Singapore.

“In the coming weeks Mashable will be adding a second editorial staff member to the Singapore office and Mashable Asia team. The company is also in the process of recruiting for our sales department so we can work with advertisers and agencies in Singapore and across Southeast Asia,” shared Paul Cafiero, Mashable Corporate Communications Manager with adobo.

The launch of Mashable Asia came a day after the tragic bombing in Bangkok, Thailand. While unfortunate, Cafiero believes that it shows the value of strong reportage and the role and influence Mashable in the region.

“This just underscores the importance of having a dedicated Asia site and being able to cover news as it happens around the world,” Cafiero adds.
