TBWASMP’s Melvin Mangada Honored at Agora Awards 2018

MANILA –  Last week, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno’s Chief Creative Officer and name partner Melvin Mangada was honored with the 2018 Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of Marketing Communications. 

Mangada began his career fresh out of college as the industry’s first director-level Advertising Creative at Ace Saatchi & Saatchi before joining with industry veterans Jimmy Santiago and Tong Puno, to establish TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno.

Throughout his career, Mangada has uplifted the image of the Philippine marketing communications industry by setting records for excellence in creativity and marketing performance. This has led him to become the first Hall of Fame awardee of the 4A’s (Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies).

In 18 years, he built relationships and earned the trust of the most respected marketers for the country’s largest brands like Alaska (17 years), Boysen (17 years), Peerless Products (13 years), Oishi Snacks (12 years), and Del Monte (11 years).

Under Mangada’s leadership, TBWA\SMP has been recognized for its accomplishments, including an unprecedented 7  Agency of the Year nods from 4A’s. Mangada has also been declared adobo magazine’s Top Executive Creative Director for a record five times, and is Campaign Asia’s incumbent South East Asia Creative of the Year.

Internationally, Mangada regularly represents the country at the world’s most important marketing communications festivals and award shows. A frequent Jury President, his work has been recognized by the world’s most prestigious creative festivals such as Cannes Lions, D&AD, and Clio.

Beyond marketing communications, Mangada is also a Board of Trustee member of Bright Halls, a private non-profit orphanage, as well as of Cavas.ph, an organization that promotes literacy among marginalized children in the Philippines.

“Beyond the advertising industry,” Mangada says, “The role of marketing communicators is to help shape our culture as a people, and how we live as Filipinos.”
