Arts & Culture: DTI-CITEM Collaborates with Manila International Performing Arts Market and CREATE PH to Bring Arts and Business Together at CCP

Learn about the latest trends in performing arts and create a communication line among
the cutting-edge artists and producers at the first Manila International Performing Arts
Market (MPAM) x CREATE PH, slated on September 19 to 21, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

A global platform for performances, business-to-business exchange and networking
opportunities, the MIPAM x CREATE PH aims to facilitate connections among artists,
cultural operators, promoters, producers and impresarios from international performing
arts markets and festival and establish possible future partnerships.

In collaboration with the DTI-CITEM, the MIPAM x CREATE PH is a good venue to
introduce talented artists, not just from the Philippines but from across the region and
promote them in the performing arts community in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific.
During the event, various performing groups will showcase their artistic programs at the
newly-built Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (CCP Black Box Theater).

There will also be exhibitions featuring dance companies, theater organizations, choral
groups, experimental groups and allied industries suppliers.

Participants can also join the scheduled capacity-building seminar, a platform for
continued learning for creative professionals. This seminar aims to equip arts
professionals with proper knowledge to scale up their design business and become
competitive in the local and international markets.

Atty. BJ Pallattao, John Paul Lanot and Alessa Libongco-Lanot will be the speakers on topics such as “Managing Business for Arts Sector,” “Basic Branding Principles,” and “Safeguarding Intellectual Property Rights in Performing Arts.”

The vital focus of MIPAM x CREATE PH is the domestic and international networking and
business pitching between artists, creators and producers. There will be venue for
networking and business-to-business meetings, as well as pitch for creative collaboration.
Joining the arts market are My Performing Arts Agency, the founder and organizer of
Borak Arts Series in Kuala Lumpur; the Taipei Performance Arts Centre, a key mover of
the Taipei Performing Arts Market and the Association of Dance Alliance Meeting of
Contemporary Dance; and the Bangkok Performing Arts Meeting, the programmer of the
Bangkok Performing Arts Market in Thailand.

Promoters, producers from various international performing arts markets and impresarios
from various arts festival, as well as delegates from the Federation for Asian Cultural
Promoters (FACP) and the Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centre (AAPPAC)
are expected to attend the arts market.
