NEW YORK CITY – A campaign that was the result of a partnership between Philippine Airlines and Philippines Foundation has been honored at the first ever D&AD Impact Awards. Ogilvy & Mather Philippines wins a Wood Pencil under Community category for ‘Learning Boats of Leyte’ at the 2016 D&AD Impact Awards.

Created to answer the devastating effects of 2013’s Typhoon Haiyan in Leyte, ‘Learning Boats of Leyte’ sought to address two major problems: provide livelihood for those who lost fishing boats, and create makeshift classrooms for children to continue their education.

Donna Dimayuga, Creative Director at Ogilvy Philippines, said, “It’s a huge honor to be awarded Ogilvy Philippine’s first Pencil, and for a project that has a sincere purpose to help Filipino communities. We are fortunate to be working with such supportive clients, and such a tireless, inspired team. May this be the first of many meaningful wins.”

Eleanor Puyat, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Philippines, stated, “We are extremely proud of this inspired win. We take great pride in both the impactful work we’ve done in collaboration with our partners, and in the strength and spirit of the entire team that continues to work tirelessly for this campaign. As an agency that celebrates the twin peaks of creativity and effectiveness, we rejoice in the way we are able to apply our talents and skills to genuinely improve people’s lives.”
