Globe combo promos seen to sustain subscriber growth for TM brand

MANILA, JUNE 12, 2013 – Globe Telecom mass-market brand TM is looking to its combo promos, namely promos that combine call and text services, to help it continue to grow its business in a mature and competitive market.

For example, the TM AstigCombo15 allows subscribers 30 minutes of calls and unlimited texts to both Globe and TM numbers for one day. This service can also be extended via the TM EXTEND promo, which allows users to extend the validity of their promos for another day for Php5.

In the first quarter of 2013, TM managed to gain almost 1.4 million new subscribers, amounting to an increase of 20 percent year-on-year. This brings the total TM subscriber count to 16.3 million. TM offers both basic call and text offers as well as mobile internet services.

Touch Mobile was launched in September 2001 as a prepaid mobile service initially intended for middle-income users, but has since then evolved to serve lower-income groups and has become Globe’s value brand. In 2005, the brand was relaunched as TM or “Ang Bagong Touch Mobile”, while the new slogan “Republika ng TM” debuted in 2009.
